Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekmel Geçer is a social psychologist and media scholar currently teaching at Marmara University in Istanbul. He holds a PhD from Loughborough University (UK) and brings a multidisciplinary background in psychology, communication, and theology. Prior to his current role, he taught at the University of Health Sciences and Sakarya University, and has been a visiting lecturer at institutions across Europe, including Dortmund, Würzburg, Birmingham City, Sigmund Freud, and International Balkan University.
His research focuses on social and political psychology, media and communication, and cyber psychology, with an emphasis on multiculturalism and positive psychology. He has authored seven influential books and published extensively in national and international journals. His work bridges the fields of psychology and public discourse, offering deep insights into personality, polarization, and digital society.
