Fatima Ashraf

Fatima Ashraf is a professor of public policy and history at the City University of New York, where she teaches courses on environmental and economic justice. She is the CEO of Green Squash Consulting, an environmental justice firm originally founded by her late husband, Ibrahim Abdul-Matin, author of Green Deen. Fatima previously worked in philanthropy at the Open Society Foundations and began her career in government, shaping equity-driven policy across environmental, health, education, and justice sectors. She holds a Doctor of Public Health (Dr.PH) from the University of Michigan and lives in New York with her three sons.
